Named GP for patients aged 75 and over

From April 2014, all patients aged 75 and over will have a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides them.

If you fall within this group you will have received a letter detailing who your named GP is. This GP will work with other relevant health and care professionals, who are involved in your care, to ensure that your care package meets your individual needs.

I would stress that you can still choose to see whichever GP you prefer.

 Computerised paper records

As our list size grows we've found that our premises have been bursting at the seams. We therefore looked at innovative ways of creating more space. The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed some recent building and improvement works at the practice.

To create more space we encountered St Helens and Knowsley NHS Informatics. With their help we've been able to convert the old paper Lloyd George medical records onto NHS data servers to be stored as secure digital files. These can still be accessed by your GP should the need arise.

This has resulted in 2 large rooms being freed up and converted into an IT hub for clinicians. When clinicians aren't seeing patients they vacate their consulting room so that it can be used by other clinicians - thus allowing more efficient use of clinical rooms.
